Shimazu Mitsuhisa was the second Edo period daimyô of Satsuma han. He succeeded Shimazu Iehisa as daimyô in 1638.

He was named Chamberlain (侍従, jijû) in 1631, with the rank of Lower Junior Fourth Rank at court, before being elevated to the Upper Junior Fourth Rank and the title of Minor Captain (少将, shôshô) in 1651, and then Middle Captain (中将, chûshô) in 1673.

His eldest son Shimazu Tsunahisa died in 1673. Upon Mitsuhisa's retirement in 1687, he was succeeded by his grandson (Tsunahisa's son) Shimazu Tsunataka.
