The Sangoku meisho zue (Illustrated Famous Places of the Three Provinces) is a sixty-volume set of illustrated volumes describing the famous sites, topography, history, local products, and so forth of the three provinces under control of the Shimazu clan: Hyûga, Ôsumi, and Satsuma. It was compiled by Godai Hidetaka, Hashiguchi Kenpei, and Godai Yûko in 1843, at the orders of Shimazu Narioki.
