:Doesn't it mean "to become a Ronin"? (or at least to "desert/flee" your han)?  I believe the indication is that they would be leaving the service of thier lord without permission?  --[[User:Shogun|Kitsuno]] 17:28, 7 January 2007 (PST)

I am going to create a category called Shinsengumi Members, exclusively for the members of the Shinsengumi, while the current "Shinsengumi" category will still be for all members and people and events related to the shinsengumi. This will allow people to check the "Shinsengumi Members" category to see just the members, while the "Shinsengumi" category will be for everyone related, and the related events. So from this point on, be sure to include both <nowiki>[[Category:Shinsengumi]] and [[Category:Shinsengumi Members]] to the biographies of the actual shinsengumi members.</nowiki>  --[[User:Shogun|Kitsuno]] 18:44, 7 January 2007 (PST)
