The Pembroke was an American merchant vessel which was fired upon by Chôshû domain warships in 1863.

The Pembroke was anchored at Tanoura (near the Straits of Shimonoseki) when, on 1863/5/10, the Chôshû domain warships Kôshin and Kigai fired upon it. The Pembroke fled into the Bungo Channel.

US Resident Minister Robert H. Pruyn then tried on several occasions to negotiate for the Tokugawa shogunate to pay compensation.
