The play Nue as depicted in a woodblock print by Tsukioka Kôgyô

Nue is a Noh play by Zeami, featuring the monster known as the nue.
In this Noh play, which takes place in the 12th century, the monster narrates the story of his attacks upon the emperor, and of Minamoto no Yorimasa's efforts to drive him away.
