Naganuma Morihide

Morihide, a son of Naganuma Sanekuni, held Samoyama castle and became an important retainer of the Ashina clan. In the wake of Ashina Moritaka's death in 1583, Morihide joined a faction of retainers that favored naming a younger son of Date Terumune as heir to the Ashina house. In 1590 he was wounded in a severe clash with the Kawada clan and died shortly afterwards. Later, his three sons were moved to the Date's Yonezawa castle.
