The Kodai-ji temple, located in Higashiyama ward, Kyoto city was founded by [[Kodai-In|Kôdai-In]], is part of the Rinzai school of Buddhism.

Kôdai-ji is a [[Rinzai]] [[Zen]] [[Buddhist temple]] located in [[Kyoto|Kyoto's]] Higashiyama ward. Founded by [[Kodai-in|Kôdai-in]], also known as ''Nene'', the widow of [[Toyotomi Hideyoshi]], the temple is known for being the site of the graves of Hideyoshi and Nene. [[Kamei Korenori]] is also buried there.

This temple is known as the grave site of [[Toyotomi Hideyoshi]] and his wife ''Nene'' (Kôdai-In).

The ''Chashitsu'' ''Kasa-tei'' and ''Shigure-tei'' were moved from [[Fushimi castle]].

The ''chashitsu'' (tea rooms) ''Kasa-tei'' and ''Shigure-tei'' extant at the temple today were moved there from [[Fushimi castle]].

In [[1867]], the temple was used as the headquarters of the [[Goryo Eji|Goryô Eji]].
