King Sukjong was the 19th king of Joseon. He was the only son of King Hyeonjong and Queen Myeongseong.

Sukjong's 46-year reign was the second-longest of the Joseon period, exceeded only by his son King Yeongjo's reign of 51 years. Yeongjo's mother was Royal Noble Consort Sukbin.
