Kageyama Kazukage

Kageyama Kazukage was a Mino warrior and vassal of Saitô Dôsan. During the Siege of Ôgaki castle in 1547, Kazukage, who was sitting on a camp stool, was struck in the left eye by an arrow fired from the castle. As soon as the arrow was removed, he was then struck in the right eye by another arrow, blinding him. His sword, originally held by Taira Kagekiyo, and known as Azamaru, would from then on be considered cursed, and the next owner, Niwa Nagahide, would donate it to the Atsuta shrine in order to remove the curse.
