Jinshin War

• Japanese: 壬申の乱 (Jinshin no ran)

The Jinshin War was a succession dispute which took place in 672 between Emperor Tenji's brother Prince Ôama and Tenji's son Prince Ôtomo.

Ôama eventually defeated his nephew, and took the throne as Emperor Temmu, ruling until 686.
