Chin Kisho

  • Japanese/Chinese: 其湘 (Chin Kishou / Chén Qíxiāng)

Chin Kishô was a Ryukyuan scholar-aristocrat who traveled to Fuzhou in 1692, and was named instructor to the musicians attached to the shoin ("study") of Shuri castle in 1699, at the age of 26. He taught Chinese songs, pipa, and sanxian in that position for about a year and a half.
