- Genroku 15/12/14 (30 January 1703) - Forty-seven former retainers of the late Asano Naganori attack the mansion of Kira Yoshinaka.
- 1703/1/5 Shogun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi visits the mansion of Yanagisawa Yoshiyasu; Yoshiyasu's retainers perform or demonstrate a dialogue in spoken Chinese before the shogun.
