Mongol envoys depart Korea for Japan, with a message from Khubilai Khan to the "King of Japan", demanding that he submit to the Khan, or be invaded. The envoys are turned back by foul weather shortly after setting sail.
Service is held celebrating the rebuilding of the Renge-in Sanjûsangen-dô which was destroyed by fire some years earlier.
Amami Ôshima begins sending tribute to Chûzan.
