SamuraiWiki talk:Shinsengumi Task Force
Ogata Shuntaro
In this article, it says: He was missing during the Battle of Aizu. - Is there a story behind this? Does this mean he disappeared during the battle, and was presumed killed? --Kitsuno 21:16, 22 December 2006 (PST)
Some source says he just ran away from Shinsengumi, some source says it was "Missing in Action". Any way he disappeared after the battle of bonari pass and nobody knows after that.--Shikisoku 00:36, 25 December 2006 (PST)
Ishii Yujiro
Ishii Yujirou's father is listed as 石井文弥 - How do you read his name? "Aya", "Bun'ya", "Fumiya"?
It should be Fumiya.--Shikisoku 00:55, 25 December 2006 (PST)
Shinsengumi Timeline
I have created a seperate page for the Shinsengumi Timeline, and I used a Wikipedia trick to display that article seamlessly inside the Shinsengumi article. For anyone curious, I put this in the article:
{{:Shinsengumi Timeline}}
That puts the text from another article inside the article you are working on. If you want to add dates or events to the timeline, you can do it either way, you can edit the Shinsengumi Timeline directly, or you can edit the sections in the Shinsengumi article, and the changes will also happen in the Shinsengumi Timeline article. --Kitsuno 22:30, 22 December 2006 (PST)
Title question
In "血誠新撰組-峻烈壬生浪士忠と斬" is the 血誠 basically just "blood & makoto", or does 血誠 have a meaning?
I think the word was created for the book title.--Shikisoku 00:38, 25 December 2006 (PST)
Shimada Kai
Shimada Kai's father's name was Kondo Iemon - was Shimada Kai's original name Kondo Kai, or was "Kai" also a name he assumed later? --Kitsuno 21:07, 24 December 2006 (PST)
He was adopted to Shimada Sai of Ogaki han so original name might be Kondo Kai. But I do not have any confirmed source.--Shikisoku 00:46, 25 December 2006 (PST).
- In Romulus Hillsborough's new book on the Shinsengumi, it says that "he studied the Shinkeitou style in Edo" - did he just get it wrong, or did Kai study that style as well? --Kitsuno 01:14, 25 December 2006 (PST)
Takeda Kanryusai
In Kanryusai's article, it says that he was killed by Saito Hajime, but there is a (?) after that - does it mean that it is unknown if he really did kill him? Also, was Kato Higuma forced to commit seppuku directly because of Kanryusai? --Kitsuno 23:55, 24 December 2006 (PST)
Generally speaking, the assassin of Takeda Kanryusai was Saito but some historians deny. As for Kato's seppuku, that is what generally believed but some historians deny.--Shikisoku 00:54, 25 December 2006 (PST)
