Fuyuyasu was the third son of Miyoshi Motonaga and a younger brother of Miyoshi Chokei and a noted poet. He held Takenokuchi castle on Island and commanded ships for his elder brother. He is thought to have been murdered on the orders of Matsunaga Hisahide while visiting Iimori castle as part of the latter's efforts to undermine the Miyoshi. His son was Atagi Nobuyasu.
