Kashima is known as the birth place of Japanese martial arts. Tsukahara Bokuden learned Kashima Chuko Ryu from father, Katori Shinto Ryu from step father, and created Kashima Shinto Ryu. There are 120 technics handed down to present. However famous Ichi no Tachi remains mystery.
