Iesato joined the [[Roshigumi]] with [[Negishi Yuzan]] in [[1863]] and stayed in [[Kyoto]] with other 23 members.
After the Roshigumi returned to [[Edo]], he and [[Tonouchi Yoshio]] were ordered to be in charge of this party by [[Udono Kyuo]].
However they lost for factional strife and Tonouchi was assassinated.
Iesato ran away to Osaka but was found by [[Serizawa Kamo]] and he was forced to commit [[Seppuku]].
