[[Kondo Isami]] treated him particularly because he was expert of ''Koshu Ryu Gungaku'' (Takeda clan's military science)
[[1864]] , He captured [[Furutaka Shuntaro]] which leaded the [[Ikedaya Affair]].

Later Shinsengumi adopted Western military style and ''Koshu Ryu Gungaku'' was no longer needed.
