Yorichika nominally served the [[Shoni clan|Shôni]] of western Kyushu but in [[1544]] he secretly communicated with [[Ouchi Yoshitaka|Ôuchi Yoshitaka]] and plotted against [[Ryuzoji Iekane|Ryûzôji Iekane]]. He attacked Iekane's household and killed a number of its members, including [[Ryuzoji Chikaie|Ryûzôji Chikaie]] (father of [[Ryuzoji Takanobu|Ryûzôji Takanobu]]). Iekane fled to [[Chikugo province|Chikugo]] and returned the following year. Yorichika's forces were defeated and Yorichika was killed.
