Kasuga Taisha is a [[Shinto shrine]] in [[Nara]], closely associated with the [[Fujiwara clan]] and the nearby [[Mt. Mikasa]]. Originally established around [[768]], much of the shrine buildings today date to an [[1863]] reconstruction.
The "Kasuga tsukuri" architectural style is echoed in many shrines across Japan.
