The Shimizu Tokugawa clan were one of the three ''[[Gosankyo|Gosankyô]]'' clans related to the [[Tokugawa shogunate|Tokugawa shoguns]]. Initially headed by [[Tokugawa Shigeyoshi]], second son of [[Shogun]] [[Tokugawa Ieshige]], they maintained a mansion inside the Shimizu-mon gate of [[Edo castle]].
