Kurinomoto Gyokusetsu was a Buddhist monk and ''[[haikai]]'' poet from [[Kumamoto han]].
After serving in temples in [[Awaji province|Awaji]] and [[Harima province]]s, and in [[Kakogawa]], he became formally affiliated with the [[Nijo family|Nijô family]] as a master poet, and traveled the realm erecting monuments to [[Matsuo Basho|Matsuo Bashô]]. In [[1800]], he published an account of his travels entitled ''Azuma gahi''.
