Ariyoshi Daizen was a karô of the Hosokawa clan of Kumamoto han. He is known for an incident in 1762 in which he was accused of cursing or hexing both Hosokawa Shigekata (lord of Kumamoto), and Hori Heitazaemon (a magistrate in service to the Hosokawa). Ariyoshi was sentenced to house arrest, indefinitely.
