Pak Suryang was a Joseon Confucian official, said to have been perfectly upright, his character unblemished by any corruption.

Pak served in government for some 39 years, including rising to the position of hojopanseo (a top Minister position). Following his death, King Myeongjong had a stele erected in Pak's memory in the county of Jangseong; in reference to Pak's supposedly unblemished character, the stele bears no inscription whatsoever.
