He died during the return journey from [[Edo]] in that year, at [[Fushimi]], and is buried at [[Daikoku-ji]] (aka Satsuma-dera) in Fushimi, alongside [[Takehara peechin]], the mission's ''[[sangikan]]'', who died the same day.
