Hayashi Shinjirô was a son of [[Hayashi Michitada]] and served [[Oda Nobunaga]]. He fought in a number of notable engagements, including the [[battle of Anegawa]] ([[1570]]) and an attack on the Ishiyama Honganji ([[1570]]), before being killed in the rear-guard of the Oda army at [[Battle of Nagashima|Nagashima]] (1573).
