Shigehide was the son of [[Suzuki Sadayu]]. He later served [[Toyotomi Hideyoshi|Hideyoshi]] in the same capacity and fought in [[Korean Invasions|Korea]]. He is sometimes said to have fought at the [[battle of Sekigahara]] on the side of [[Ishida Mitsunari]] but this is impossible to confirm.
