Yoshshige was a son of [[Hachisuka Iemasa]] and inherited his father's fief at Tokushima in [[Awa province]] when Iemasa retired. He supported [[Tokugawa Ieyasu]] during the [[Sekigahara Campaign]] ([[1600]]) and later served him at [[Osaka castle]] (1615).
