Nagayoshi was the third son of [[Ikeda Nobuteru]] and was adopted by [[Toyotomi Hideyoshi]]. He supported the [[Tokugawa clan]] in the [[Sekigahara Campaign]] ([[1600]]) and assisted his elder brother [[Ikeda Terumasa|Terumasa]] in the reduction of [[Gifu castle]] in [[Mino province]]. He was afterwards given [[Tottori castle]] in [[Inaba province]].
