Kikuchi joined the [[Shinsengumi]] in [[1867]]. He fought at the [[Battle of Toba-Fushimi]], and then went to Edo.  He stayed with the Shinsengumi until he was killed during the [[Battle of Shirakawaguchi]].

He died during the [[Battle of Shirakawaguchi]].
