Sakamoto Fuki

Sakamoto Fuki, also known as Sômi Nyûdô, was a Japanese Buddhist priest from Echizen province who traveled to Ryûkyû in the late 16th century; he is known for having planted mulberry trees on Kumejima, setting the stage for silk cultivation there.
