Niiro Hisaaki

Niiro Hisaaki was an early Edo period Shimazu clan karô.

He served as karô based in Edo (Edo-zume karô) for a time in the 1640s, and played a role in the planning of the 1644 Ryukyuan embassy to Edo.[1]

In 1654, he then became the first to be appointed to the position of Ryûkyû no kata, responsible for overseeing matters pertaining to the Shimazu relationship with the Ryukyu Kingdom.
