Matsura Nobuzane
Portrait of Matsura Nobuzane and his wife Otô-gimi. 18-19th c. copy by Katayama Shûsui of a lost original. Matsura Historical Museum.
Matsura Nobuzane was a son of Matsura Takanobu (Dôka).
After the Hidaka clan of Iki Island requested Matsura clan aid in securing power over the island, Nobuzane was married to a daughter of the Hidaka, Otô-gimi as a political marriage. This became the basis for Matsura control over Iki; the island remained part of Hirado han territory throughout the Edo period.
Nobuzane died in 1621.
