Lung-hsing Chu

Lung-hsing Chu is an art historian focusing on the design history of East Asia. As of 2009, he was a PhD candidate in the field of Design History, at Chung Yuan Christian University[1], and assistant curator at the Southern Branch Department of the National Palace Museum in Taipei.

His work includes a paper entitled "The Meeting of China, Japan and Holland: Dutchmen in Japanese Prints during the Edo Period," in which he discusses the depiction of Dutchmen in Edo period art, and understandings or conceptions of the foreign among Japanese of that period.
