986/6/24 Fujiwara no Kaneie becomes head of the Fujiwara clan, and is appointed sesshô.
986/7/5 Fujiwara no Senshi, mother of Emperor Ichijô, becomes Empress Dowager.
986/7/22 The enthronement ceremony is held for Emperor Ichijô.

Chônen completes his 3-4 year stay in China, and returns to Japan, bringing back the first printed copy of the complete Buddhist canon to be introduced into Japan.
