- 1274/10/20 Mongol invasion begins in earnest, as Mongol forces attack Hakata and are engaged in battle by Japanese forces.
- 1274/10/20-21 Storm strikes northern Kyushu; Mongol forces call off the invasion and withdraw, suffering heavy losses in the storm.
