This style had a profound influence on the development of Kendo. Followers of this style learned to master the spirit-heart, internal energy, and the energy of the body; Shin, Ki, and Ryoku respectively. Thus they learned to act only when the emotions were quiet and free from any fear and evil intent. The fundamental principle in this style is called Uchikachi, which means attack and defense in one blow.
