Yoshihide was a son of Hatakeyama Yoshitoyo (and a descendant of Hatakeyama Yoshinari). He held Takeyama castle in Kawatchi province. He lost his castle to Hatakeyama Naonobu but, siding with the Miyoshi clan and Hosokawa Sumimoto in 1511, he was able to return. He was an ally of Miyoshi Motonaga and committed suicide when under attack by Hosokawa Harumoto in 1532.
