- Taichô daishi establishes Ôtaki temple on the grounds of Okamoto Shrine in Echizen province, marking the establishment of the combined shrine-temple complex today known as Okamoto and Ôtaki Shrines. It is the only shrine in Japan dedicated to a goddess of papermaking.
