Ujitoyo was the 6th son of [[Imagawa Ujichika]] and [[Imagawa Yoshimoto|Yoshimoto's]] younger brother. He was given control of [[Nagoya castle]] at a young age and married a daughter of [[Shiba Yoshimune]] - a [[Shugo]] residing in [[Kiyosu]].
