The perennial Itadori flower is found on all four main islands of Japan, along with general East Asia.
It is said in the Nihon Shoki that a Tajihi Flower (Itadori Flower) fell into the well where Emperor Hanzei's bath water was being drawn from. He henceforth got the name "Emperor Tajihi no Mizuhawake".
