He was born in [[1640]] as a son of lord of Odawara han [[Inaba Masanori]]. In [[1663]], he served in the vanguard for Shogun [[Tokugawa Ietsuna|Tokugawa Ietsuna's]] procession to [[Nikko Toshogu|Nikkô Tôshôgû]].
In [[1681]]/4, he was named ''[[soshaban|sôshaban]]'' and concurrently ''[[Jisha bugyo|Jisha bugyô]]'' (Magistrate for Temples and Shrines), before being assigned later that same year to the position of ''Kyoto shoshidai''.
