Nobutaka was the third son of [[Oda Nobunaga|Nobunaga]] and was adopted into the [[Kambe clan|Kambe family]] of [[Ise province|Ise]]. After the death of his father he joined [[Toyotomi Hideyoshi|Hideyoshi's]] army and at the [[Battle of Yamazaki]] helped defeat [[Akechi Mitsuhide]].
