Takashige was an important retainer of Môri Motonari and was present in the campaign that brought down Gassan-Toda castle between 1564-66. He afterwards assisted Kikkawa Motoharu in his fight with Amako adherents under Yamanaka Shikanosuke in Izumo province. He later fought at Kozuki castle in Harima province in 1578.
