Uemura Kichiya III was an early-18th century Kamigata onnagata kabuki actor who excelled at playing the role of the wife.
The student of Uemura Kichiya II, he in turn was the master to Yamatoyama Jinzaemon I. He was sometimes known as Kokichiya or "Little Kichiya", as Kichiya I, his master's master, had been known as Ôkichiya, or "Great Kichiya".
Kichiya performed in Kyoto and Osaka from around 1702 into the 1720s, performing at least once in a play produced by the celebrated onnagata Yoshizawa Ayame I.
He made his last appearance onstage in the first month of 1724, and died later that year. His grave can be found at the Jôraku-ji in Kyoto.
