Kiyohara Kiyoshi was from Kumamoto in Higo province. He joined the Shinsengumi in Edo, 1865. But he deserted and joined the Goryo Eji. He fought under Satsuma han troops against Bakufu during the Boshin War. 1868/4/25, He died during the Battle of Shirakawaguchi.
