:::Yes, that's what the image and the source page says.  But on the source page there was no copyright notice.  Which doesn't mean there isn't a copyright, I guess, but...  Anyway, Yanagita died in 1962 so unless the photo was taken in the last year of his life, there's less than five years left before the expiration.  So how do you make a photo low resolution?  Do you mean just resize it?  Make it smaller?  Thanks for the input and advice.  [[User:Azuki Arai|Azuki Arai]] 14:29, 17 March 2007 (PDT)

::I've noticed this discussed on wikipedia, I ''think'' images of "famous" people are OK as long as they are low-res and not copyrighted per se, or that there are no other images available or something like that.  Just tag the picture as "unknown copyright" for now, and if anyone complains, we'll take it down, but I think it should be OK.  We aren't making any money off it.  --[[User:Shogun|Kitsuno]] 19:00, 17 March 2007 (PDT)

Image Copyright

The picture looks new. Isn't it copyrighted?--Shikisoku 02:37, 16 March 2007 (PDT)

I could find no copyright information about the image. I listed the site I got it from, which gave the image's source but no information on a copyright. Azuki Arai 09:49, 16 March 2007 (PDT)

Yes, that's what the image and the source page says. Azuki Arai 14:29, 17 March 2007 (PDT)
I've noticed this discussed on wikipedia, I think images of "famous" people are OK as long as they are low-res and not copyrighted per se, or that there are no other images available or something like that. Just tag the picture as "unknown copyright" for now, and if anyone complains, we'll take it down, but I think it should be OK. We aren't making any money off it. --Kitsuno 19:00, 17 March 2007 (PDT)
