Niimi joined the Roshigumi with Serizawa Kamo. He was one of commander of the Mibu Roshigumi but later demoted to be vice commander because of his bad conducts. He was ordered to commit Seppuku because of breaking their regurations.
Strangely, Niimi Nishiki is enshrined in Ryozen Gokoku Shrine by Katsura Kogoro.
He might be a spy from Choshu han.
