Akechi's birth date.
The only data that exists in his death poem in the "Akechi Gunki", but of course that is not a good historical record. Also, it seems there are manuscript variations.
The traditional date of his birth is 1526, and this fits with the version of his poem I found in a novel "57 nen no yume." However, more recent quotes of the poem (as internet and Rekishi Dokuhon 200.8) give "55 nen no yume," so it seems that a better manuscript has been found. But that does not make the poem any more historical. Anyway, most recent reference books (like Kojien) have "1528?".--Bethetsu 00:21, 7 December 2006 (PST)
