Nobuyasu was the son of Atagi (Miyoshi) Fuyuyasu and after the fall of the Miyoshi clan submitted to Oda Nobunaga. He fought the Môri navy during the First Battle of Kizuwaguchi in 1577, and the Second Battle of Kizugawaguchi the following year.
